The Red Square is the main square of Russia. It exists from XV century; it named "Red" (in Old Russian it is the same with "beautiful") from the middle of XVII century. The main architectural detail of the square is the Temple of Basil Blessed.
During its long history the square was a place of trade, various religion and king's ceremonies. Decisions of court were disclosed and executions were carried out here.
On the Red Square military parades take place, among them the Victory Parade on June 24, 1945.
